I do grant research for a living and your post reminds me of all the grant programs that are out there for single mothers!  As a matter of fact my very first client (some years ago!) was a single mother who wanted funding for her schooling and then wanted to start a daycare business of her own!  I was able to find 4 such programs that she could apply for!

I would strongly suggest that you start looking on the government website for grant programs.  However you should also know that a lot of grants are available from entities other than the government such as foundations and other organizations!  I was even able to find one such organization that helps single mothers pay back some or all of their student loans! - this is not a government grant program but a grant program that is provided by another organization.

 So I really think that you should start looking online for some of these programs.

I am a 37 year old single mom who is trying to get a better education. I am the sole provider for my children and the only one that pays my bills. I do not get any government assistance. I work a full time job but do not make enough money to also pay for my education. I do not qualify for aid because I have a full time job and they do not take your bills and obligations into consideration. Any help anyone could give would be great.

hi erwtikos, I sure hope that someone will help you pay your bills, that is true for a 28years old who already got a home is a success but for it to be taken away is taking ur dream away from u. I am a u.s. citizen who is 27years old and still dream of having a car any type even rusty i'd take it. I jz graduated last year but no one related to my course would hire me. life is really hard nowadays I am a dreamer ever since i was a child..coming from a poor family, i strive to take public transportation all my life, eat from others leftovers, wear other's donated clothes all my childhood.. i wish i'd have my own car someday..I am wishing for you too.

    I'm looking for funding to start a welding shop.  I've welded for other companies since 1979.
I need $5000 for a welder/generator.  I need 10,000 for a delivery truck (used).  I need 25,000 for a load of steel.
The load of steel will gross over 35,000 per load in returns. 

     This $40,000 will allow my family and I to get off of foodstamps and become self sufficient.  I am willing to pay 20% interest for a loan provided it is a balloon payment that I can pay every 3 months to allow me time to build the business.  Grants would be preferable.

     I have not credit as I have been divorced 3 times and am trying to rebuild myself again.  If I could get an additional $70,000 for property to work on instead of my little lot, I could make regular monthly payments instead of balloon payments.  This will employ 7 individuals.
